EC NCCP Instructor Evaluation (virtual) - March Intake

Evaluation for the EC/NCCP Instructor Certification by Video

Candidates must hold EC Registered Coach Status and have completed all Drive/Rider Level prerequisites in order to sign up for the evaluation.

Evaluation Eligibility

Applicants MUST have completed all requirements to be evaluated for certification.

Age (as of Jan 1, Current Year) 16 years‍

Computer (if completing a video evaluation) Access to a computer or laptop (phones and tablets are not recommended) with high-speed internet, video camera, microphone, Microsoft Word or document editor and a gmail address for accessing google classroom

‍Equestrian Canada Coach Status Minimum current EC Registered Coach Status

‍EC Prerequisites Completed English level 6, old English II, Pony Club C2 or Western level 4, or completion of EC Learn to Drive program

‍Learn to Ride Own or have access to Stable Management and Learn to Ride/Drive Manuals

‍NCCP Make Ethical Decisions online evaluation Successfully completed through CAC Locker

‍Understanding the Rule of Two eLearning module Completed through CAC Locker

‍Access to a facility or environment for recording video (if completing a video evaluation)3 Riders, 3 school horses (you must teach a group) at Learn to Ride English Level 3-4 or Western level 2-4 and facility

Evaluation Schedule

This evaluation will begin the week of March 16, 2026 and take place over three months, to be completed by July 06, 2026

This online evaluation is expected to be completed within the following schedule:

‍Week 1: Evaluator(s) Assigned

‍Week 2:Candidate pre-brief with coach evaluator & lesson topics assigned

‍Weeks 3-5: Portfolio (Lesson Plans and Emergency Action Plan) drafts DUE to evaluator for feedback.

‍Weeks 5-8: Portfolio review and approval - videos must not be recorded prior to evaluator approval.

‍Weeks 8-10: Stable Management video submission

‍Weeks 10-14: Lesson videos submitted

‍Weeks 15-16 - Final debrief
