Ruth Allum is the Head Coach at Oakhurst Farm and a leading figure in Canadian Eventing, with over 30 years of coaching experience. She has developed more than 60 horse-and-rider teams to the Preliminary level and beyond, coached athletes to the North American Young Rider Championships, and supported riders on the Canadian National Talent Squad and Eventing Team Long List. Ruth was named Equestrian Canada’s High-Performance Coach of the Year in 2011 and recognized as one of Horse Sport’s Top 50 Influencers in 2020.

As GRIT’s Performance Advisor, Ruth collaborates with Technical Coaches to design the program curriculum and support athlete development. She also works closely with personal coaches across Canada to review training plans and guide NCCP Certification. Beyond Ontario, Ruth contributes to Horse Trials programs in Nova Scotia, PEI, and Manitoba.
